Slide 1: The Amazing Letter kids zoom in with the uppercase and lowercase letter. Slide 2: An anchor picture is introduced for the sound. Slide 3: Students practice saying the sound each time the letter appears. Slide 4: Objects that begin with the letter appear one at a time. Say the word and isolate the beginning sound. Slide 5: Isolate the initial sound with the anchor picture. Slide 6: Word is shown for anchor picture and the beginning sound is related to the first letter. Slide 7: Words are presented for 2 pictures. Students point to the letter that makes the beginning sound. Circles appear for them to self-evaluate their response. Slide 8: Phonemic awareness skill: Clap the word parts in 4 words that begin with the sound. Slides 9 -15: Pictures are shown for student to give thumbs up/down to indicate if the picture begins with the target sound. Slide 16: Find the pictures that begin with the sound. Can be displayed for "Time to show what you know!" or printed for student independent practice. Slide 17: Trace and write the uppercase letter.
